Single crystals of functional oxides such as high-Tc superconductors and optical materials produce new features due to the crystal structure and shape. This research group develops noble crystal growth techniques to control crystal shape, composition and quality, and study about crystal growth under critical special environments.
Research subjects
1. Development of Technique for Crystal Growth Using Infrared Convergent Heating System
New technique of crystal growth is developed by the modification of the infrared convergent heating system to realize the manufacturing of the single crystal materials which can’t be manufactured by the conventional growth technique.

2. Creation of Novel Functions in Oxide Single Crystals
Single crystals of novel high electrical conductors and electrode materials are grown by melt growth technique, and the physical properties are characterized preciously for creation and improvement of novel functions.
3. Single Crystals Growth of Functional Materials
Single crystals of functional materials are grown by flux method. Intrinsic properties are revealed using grown single crystals for accelerating materials research.
